Scripture
1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.

Observation
All else may/will fail but God's word will always remain. The principles, promises and the proclamations are what I can depend upon throughout all of eternity.

Application
When everything around me is shaken I can go to the Word and find the strength I need to carry on. I can find identity, vision, and purpose. It is all there.

Prayer
Thank you God for giving us the Word. For being the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, the great Shepherd. A rock in times of trouble the reason for rejoicing in times of plenty. I love you just for who you are. Amen

  1. This morning, I was thinking about one of the great traps in developing a healthy prayer life - the pursuit of various "affects" of prayer. When an affect is sought, prayer tends to be sensationalized, stylized, it becomes narrower, and is ultimately turned on its head. It is suddenly about us, not about God. Doug Small

This was a help to me this morning so thought I would pass it on. Doug is a great minister and a good friend.
